Objective:
Language Arts TEKS K.3C
Listening/speaking/audiences/oral grammar.
The student speaks appropriately to different audiences for different
purposes and occasions. The student is expected to: ask and answer
relevant questions and contribute in small or large group discussions.
Music
TEKS K.4B
Response/evaluation.
The student responds to and evaluates music and musical performance.
The student is expected to: identify higher/lower, louder/softer,
faster/slower, and same/different in musical performances.
Behavioral Objective:
The students will interpret a picture and participate in conversations
about what the picture reminds them of.
Materials:
Markers,
white board, and picture card.
Activities:
Begin by telling the children to look at the picture. Share what it
reminds you of, and then have them share their thoughts with a partner.
The children should then share with the group. Using the markers and
board, write the key words they share. For example: vacation, summer,
car.
Process:

Have children read the words
and say them aloud.

Divide the class into three
sections. Assign a word to each group.

Say the words in the three
groups starting with the shortest word. Work to the longest.

Add a movement to each word.

Stop saying the word but
continue the movement

Evaluation:
Listen and observe to see that every child participated in sharing the
experience they recalled from the picture. Also ask the children what
movement and word went the fastest in the exercise.
