A Quick Review Lesson in "Musical Form"

by
Stephen Lias, DMA
SFA Assistant Professor of Music
Theory and Composition

This is a 20-minute review of most of the major forms used in the common practice period. It includes both small forms (Binary, Ternary, etc.), and larger forms (Sonata, Rondo, etc.).  While certainly not exhaustive, it should serve as a good review for those who simply need to brush up on the major forms used in music.
